Introduction

In this screen, you can move the operation that a production operation is scheduled to run through, to another timeframe.

What version are you using?

The information in this document is applicable to product update 405 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.

How do I move a production operation to another operation?

  1. In the Selection: Production order screen, define the criteria to display only the production orders that you want to view in the scheduler.
  2. Click Start.
  3. You can move the production operation via the following ways:
    • Click Op. zoom in at the toolbar. Select a scheduled production operation in the timeline, and then click Move at the toolbar.
    • Click Op. zoom in at the toolbar. Click the scheduled production operation in the timeline, and then drag it to another timeframe.
    • Click Op. zoom in at the toolbar. Right-click on a scheduled production operation in the timeline, and then click Move.
    • Click Prod. zoom in at the toolbar. Select a scheduled production operation in the timeline, and then click Move at the toolbar.
    • Click Prod. zoom in at the toolbar. Click the scheduled production operation in the timeline, and then drag it to another timeframe.
  4. In the Move step - Production order: [Production order ID] screen at the New operation field, select the operation that you want the selected production operation to move to.
  5. Select the Move to check box next to the Move start from field to define a new start date and time.
  6. Select the Move to check box next to the Move end from field to define a new end date and time.
  7. At the Routing move options field, select the preferred move.
  8. Select the Show operation move check box to view the production operation in the Operation zoom in form after it has been moved.
  9. Click OK.

    Keep in mind: If the schedule of the operation is finite, you will see a Next button instead. To find out if the schedule of an operation if finite or not, go to Manufacturing ? Setup ? Operations, select the operation, and then click Open. The schedule of the operation is finite if the Finite schedule check box under the Capacity/Scheduling tab is selected. If the schedule of the operation is finite, proceed to step 10.

  10. Click Next to move the production operation to the defined start or end date and time.
